pencil on paper
146cm x 110cm
This is a drawing of 50 London Plane Tree leaves found on a London street. I have echoed the format of the grid to organise nature and I also hint at botanical drawings in which different specimens would have been numbered and put into taxonomic categories - but these specimens are all the same. I am using this drawing as a metaphore for differences and similarities. In a world that appears to be more and more fractured I am intending to infer that in spite of our individual differences we are in essence all the same.
